Travelers are drawn to Mérida, Mexico for the Spanish colonial vibe and romantic architecture. The good news for us is that many of the old city’s centuries-old homes have been lovingly restored as guesthouses, allowing us to briefly bask in their courtyards as if we’re in a Gabriel García Márquez novel! Couples looking for a romantic getaway, and those who appreciate glamorous interiors filled with antiques: keep reading below for the best, the most beautiful, and the most instagram-worthy homes to book in Merida.

La Casita of Maison Azul
$102/nt, 1 bedroom, sleeps 2
This is a 100 year old casita surrounded by a pool and gardens. It stands alone from the rest of the house, in which other bedrooms are also available to book, but shares the kitchen and pool area with the owners and other guests. We personally stayed here for two nights and can absolutely recommend it! Read our full review here. And if it’s fully booked, good news because the owners, Stan and Sherry, just finished renovating another Merida home in their signature antique style, called Casa Boheme.
